Teeth
Whitening.
|
If
the overall colour of teeth is not
satisfactory teeth can be whitened using
this procedure. Teeth do not have to
be reduced or disturbed for whitening.
For the home bleaching procedure, a soft
plastic tray with the whitening gel
is worn at night, while going to
bed. The whitening agent acts overnight
and the tray can be removed in
the morning. This procedure is repeated
for ten to twelve days by which time the
teeth would have gained colour substantially.
The whitening agent used are
safe and the effect of whitening can last
for many years.

Size,
shape and gap corrections.
|
-are done with composite resins and veneers.Composites are used
for the correction of broken, decayed, cracked,
discoloured, spaced malformed, or chipped teeth
along with many other purposes. The biggest advantage of composites
is that result is immediate, i.e.,
most of the work takes only one
sitting. Gaps between front teeth also can
be closed perfectly with composites in a
single sitting.

Veneering.
|
Veneering is the process of
sticking a thin layer of material
on to the teeth to get the desired
appearance. Like the ceramic tile stuck to the wall,
the veneer is very strong once it
is stuck to the tooth and gives
a perfect finish.
Veneers are made with Composite or
Porcelain and they can be used for
the following purposes-
-to
mask white or brown spots
-to
correct size or shape differences
-for
severe discolourations
-to
add more bulk to the teeth
-for
the perfect, lustrous appearance
-to
correct chipped or cracked teeth
Porcelain veneers are scratch proof, colour
stable, crack resistant and long lasting.
The advantage of veneers over crowns
is that only minimal tooth preparation
is required for the veneer where as
all the protective enamel has to be
ground off to fit the crown.
